Overall design
This is my second Guanqin watch, and just as last time, they deliver a product that looks both elegant and beautiful. The design is clean and minimalistic, in a very nice way. Combined with a mesh band that is comfortable and looks good, this is a nice little package.
Case
The case is made of stainless steel, and has a rounded shape. The dial goes almost from edge to edge, so there’s not much of a bezel here. It has a very nicely polished finish, almost mirror-like, and the design is simply, without many details. The top and bottom part of the case are not one piece. If you look at the watch from the side, you can see the line separating the two parts.
The case has a diameter of 42 mm, and a thickness of 12 mm
Dial
The glass is made of Sapphire, and is slightly domed. The dial background is pure white, with black text. The only colour you’ll see here is the small red dots, that indicate empty power reserve.
Hours and minutes are only marked with small circles and lines, there’s no numbers/letters.
The seconds hand is moved to its own sub-dial, placed right above/on the date wheel. It is only marked with black lines. I really like this little details, as it makes the watch feel (and look) a bit unique.
The other sub-dial, at the top, shows the power reserve, and is marked with numbers. These numbers indicate how many hours it can keep running, before stopping completely.
At the bottom, there is also a date wheel, which is nicely placed inside a circular hole.
The hands have an interesting colour. When looking at the watch from the front, the look black, but when light shines on them, you can see that they are actually blue, with a metallic finish.
Automatic
The movement works without any problems, and the rotor moves easily, even when the watch is almost fully charged. This was also the case with the other Guanqin watch i have (Guanqin 16036), so it seems they make quality products.
After a period of exactly 24 hours the accuracy of the watch was + 15 seconds.
Bands
The bands are the mesh type, with a hook clasp. They look very nice, and are comfortable to wear, and they don’t pull any hairs on the wrist. The clasp is easy the adjust, and the locking mechanism works perfectly. It unlocks by pushing the two buttons on the sides.
Gearbest also have a version of this watch with leather bands, see link below.
Conclusion
I like the clean and elegant design, and the blue hands are a nice touch.
Having a separate dial for the seconds hand also looks good.
Being able to actually see how much power the watch has left, using the power indicator, is a big plus. Not only because it’s convenient, but it looks very nice and makes the watch feel even more expensive.
The automatic movement works very well, and the rotor has a good weight to it, so it moves easily and keeps the watch charged.
Material quality is good, and so are the mesh bands.
