Drum watch! SKMEI 1486

Have you seen those old alarm clocks from the 70s, that use drums to show the time? Ever wanted to wear something like that on your wrist? Well, now you can. This watch from Skmei uses 3 drums to show the time.

Design

The watch looks sporty and actually quite nice. It is made of plastic, but that’s expected since it’s a Skmei branded watch. The overall material quality still seems good for the price.
It definitively looks very interesting with the drums, and the the colors match well together (black, gray and white).

Case and window

The case is made of plastic and looks a bit like some Garmin sport watches. It has the same bezel style, but is not identical. The case is quite big, but doesn’t feel very bulky. With a size of 52 mm wide and 16 mm thick, it’s definitively not small!

On the sides you’ll find four buttons, two on each side. Actually there are three buttons on the right side, but the middle one is only for decoration. It doesn’t have any functions.

The window is made of resin, but it’s perfectly clear and flat.

The watch has three functions; showing time, stopping the drums at 12 o’clock (probably to save battery) and demo mode. The demo mode spins all the wheel 2 full rounds

Dial

The dial is mainly black with some grey background pattern, and the wheels are black with white text. Telling the time is easy, without any distraction

Writing about how this watch looks is almost a wast of time, as it’s better to just have a look at the photos and video.

Bands

The bands are made of PU rubber, and the quality is good. The remind a lot of the bands on the Zelbaze Vibe 3.

Conclusion

Here’s a watch for those who want something “different”. The drum style watch looks very cool. When the drums move, you can hear a little “buzzing” sound from the motors, which in my opinion is nice. It is noticeable when it’s very silent in the room. If the little sound will bother you, it’s not a watch for you…

It’s also a big watch, so make sure you understand that before considering getting one.
