Lenovo R1 is a set of TWS earphones, with Bluetooth 5, and promises a battery life between 4 and 5 hours, USB-C charging and as we can see in the pictures, it’s got a quite unique looking case.

Lenovo R1 Review
In the box we get a user manual in English, a USB type-C to type-A charging cable, extra rubber buds, the charging case and of course two earphones.
The charging case is a bit unusual looking, but it looks good in a combination of shiny and matte black colours. It’s round in shape, but the most interesting here is how the lid opens.
To open it, we just slide the shiny part around. It’s a smooth movement, and it snaps into the open or closed position, so it’s not going to open or close by itself. The mechanical movement also feels quite satisfying.
The battery in the case has a capacity of 600 mAh, which gave me a total of 21 hours of music, including the initial charge of the earphones.
Theres also a battery indicator on the case (see picture below). Four lights around the edge, so we can easily see when it’s time to charge it.
The earphones are made of good quality plastic, with a matte black finish on the back and the sides. The front is shiny with a Lenovo logo. These are IPX5 waterproof, so using them in rain and sweat is not a problem.
The shiny surface on the front is also the touch area for controlling music, calls, etc. We can play, pause, switch songs back and forward, open the assistant, and of course answer and reject calls.
I really like the design of these earphones, as they both look good and sit very comfortable in the ears. The ergonomic design is so comfortable that I can hardly feel them at all, and the ears never get tired/strained.
When it comes to the battery, they also perform well, and one charge usually gave me about 5 hours of loud music, which isn’t bad at all for such small earphones.
Sound quality is good. The balance between high and low is nice, and the highs are not too loud. Mids and vocals are also good and clear, but when it comes to the bass the stand out a bit. The bass is both punchy and can go very deep, so here we can get the deep rumbles that we want. I also didn’t notice any distortion at loud volume, with lots of bass, so the sound gets a big thumbs up from me!
The microphone is good enough for short calls, if the area around is silent, but they struggle a bit if there’s any noise. This is typical for small in-ear earphones, so I’m not surprised.
Those of us who use TWS earphones a lot, knows that some earphones can very shortly loose the connection in the middle of songs etc. The R1s have performed perfectly all the time, so I haven’t lost the connection even once.
The latency on these are also good. I struggle to notice any lag at all in apps like Youtube and Netflix, so this is very good.
The overall build quality is also very good, so this the Lenovo R1 is a bargain in my opinion.
